Keeping Some Habits
Keeping some of our usual habits during this time is incredibly important to keep ourselves sane and don’t feel as weird. One of the habits I have kept is wearing perfume during this quarantine, it doesn’t matter if I take my shower right before going to sleep, I spray that perfume on (I would prefer not to relate any of my fragrances to these months in the future but I can’t help it), wearing perfume every single day is something I am known for. I am woody scents lover specifically OUD and santal, but at times I swing for more flowery and “pretty” scents and spring is perfect for them so let me recommend you a few ones, but first is first let me tell you the differences between eau de parfum, eau de toilette and cologne.
Eau de parfum, is a mixture of fragrant essential oils/aroma compounds, and solvents. It’s essential oil concentration is around 30% percent. Perfumes are prepared by using mixes of aromatic compounds with ethanol or a mix of ethanol and water. As the concentration of aromatic oil increases, the more intense the perfume becomes and the longer the smell stays, reason why the price higher. It lasts from 6 to 8 hours. Except Oud Ispahan by Dior, this perfume was designed to stay on you for ages, you can shower and you will still smell it on you, a beast but I love it!
Cologne, is a type of perfume that was developed in Cologne, Germany. It is a blend of essential oils/extracts, alcohol and water. It’s essential oil concentration is 5% to 8% and it lasts 2 hours.
Ok, let’s jump to the recommendations!
Recently I received Marfa by Memo, I am a fan of memo perfumes and this new fragrance did don’t disappoint at all, the scent is “pretty” and light to wear during spring and summer, if you are not into strong perfumes.
Marfa: Gaze skyward, the desert is forgotten. Tuberose absolute. Mystery, infinity hidden from view, silence beneath the cacti. A slow-motion Western. Vanilla seed. The Milky Way leaves an azure trail, the road, half-cedar, half-sandalwood, rises. Orange blossom absolute. Monolithic shadows, dreamed sculptures or rocky mountains, worlds collide. Agave accord. Still the wind, meld musk with the strident, striped colour of neon light, stir the dust from orange blossom. Heat, drunk on blue, memories. Oil of ylang-ylang. Here, life is a storybook. Marfa.
