Homemade Moisturizer | Shea Butter, Aloe Vera & Olive Oil

So one random Sunday of making meals from scratch I decided it was a good day to finally make a homemade moisturizer recipe I had saved for a while. The original recipe is with bee wax but I used 100% Raw Shea Butter instead.

INGREDIENTS

100% Raw Shea Butter

Aloe Vera

Olive Oil

Tea Tree Oil

PREPARATION

I cut the end of the Aloe Vera and let it sit for 1 hour in water by the cut tip to allow the latex to drain.

Combine the shea butter with the olive oil and double boil it until melted and combined.

Once the aloe is fully drained remove it from the water. Now take the plant and remove the aloe gel, once that step is done blend the gel.

Now mix the aloe with the shea butter and olive oil. Give it a good mix. After that add some tea tree oil drops if desired (I did add some drops for antibacterial purposes), and tada now you have a powerful moisturizer. Great for your skin and hair.

Note: the scent is not pleasant but the benefits are amazing, so I use mine only at night time. Some people use it on their faces but I haven’t tried that yet.

I’ve kept mine refrigerated to preserve it for a longer period of time. It has been approximately 5 weeks since I made mine and it is still good.
