Flo Vitamins: PMS Sucks
Ok, my PMS seriously sucks, to the point that I’ve had to go to the emergency to get the pain under control, and let’s not forget to mention the days before it, my mood gets tricky, my bloating move my scale more than 5 pounds up and the cramps are just are of this world, to the point that a few years ago I decided that I was going to always have a bottle of ibuprofen in my purse and it has been like that until this day. But the idea of being a pharma painkiller dependant to manage my period pain is not enticing, since I rather avoid pharmaceutical solutions, they do more harm than good in the long term and this is why I was so pleasantly willing to try this vitamin from FloVitamins, I am skeptical with what I consume especially through my mouth but at this point, I would try anything as long as I can stop taking ibu.
My experience after over a month trying them:
I am looking forward to taking them because I like the flavor, they are super sweet but I am ok with that.
My bloating and ugly feeling was reduced by a lot
I got cranky only the day before my cycle
The pain was bearable, not completely gone but one day of a little discomfort won’t kill me
I am not prone to acne but normally after my cycle, I get 1 or 2 pimples, this time around I got nothing.
Am I going to continue using this product? Yes, until I notice something weird.
The tasty, scientifically-designed vitamin for PMS
PMS doesn’t have to suck. We made a plant-based gummy vitamin that takes a proactive approach to PMS relief. FLO’s all-star ingredients have been shown to alleviate cramps*, acne*, and mood swings*. Did we mention these gummies taste great too?
Ingredients:
CHASTE BERRY
A small-yet-mighty berry that’s been shown to decrease symptoms of PMS in up to 93% of women. One study concluded that chaste berry extract eases premenstrual mastodynia (AKA pre-period boob pain). While it’s known by several different names (monk’s pepper, “the women’s herb”) the best we came across, by far, was the “herb for female complaints”. The name says it all. Sister stealing your clothes? Chaste berry. Boy drama? Chaste berry. PMS? Chaste berry. Ok, so the first two were a joke...but when it comes to treating symptoms of PMS, chaste berry means serious business.*

DONG QUAI
Dong Quai is an antispasmodic (which is a fancy way of saying it relieves cramps), balances estrogen levels, and supports your nervous system to ease anxiety and boost energy. Dong Quai also contains ferulic acid, a natural anti-spasmodic, and anti-inflammatory that can help to further relieve PMS symptoms like bloating and muscle pain. Less cramps = less feeling like an energy-zapped zombie when that time of the month rolls around.*
Traditionally used to alleviate: Cramps, Bloating
VITAMIN B6
Vitamin B6 has been shown to reduce a broad range of PMS symptoms, but one of the more notable ones is premenstrual depression. “Sorry for what I said when I was PMSing” becomes a thing of the past. Any woman who’s ever experienced PMS (that’d be >90% of us, BTW) knows that it rarely feels like just one thing. Just sad? We wish it was that easy. More often than not, it’s a jumbled-up combination of a lot of hard-to-describe symptoms. And it’s in those cases, when you’re up against a ton of “can’t-quite-put-your-finger-on-it” feelings, that your girl vitamin B6 has your back.*
Traditionally used to alleviate: Mood Swings, Cravings
LEMON BALM
When life gives you lemon balm, make PMS gummy vitamins. In 2015, one study found lemon balm to be effective at reducing the intensity of PMS cramps among a group of 100 participants. A separate study conducted in 2014researched the anti-stress effects of lemon balm; those participants who were given lemon balm reported improvements in mood and cognitive performance. Not sure about you, but when that time of the month rolls around we want all the mood-boosting benefits we can get.*
