Blood Facial with Microneedling + PRP
Microneedling entails using a handheld pen with tiny needles at the end that penetrate into the top layers of the skin (we numb with topical numbing cream for this procedure). The needles create tiny pores/channels in the skin that trick the body into stimulating collagen production and cell repair, helping to resurface the skin. This procedure can be done alone using a serum to glide the device over the face or it can be performed in conjunction with the protein-rich part of your blood (PRP). PRP as a gliding serum that will be stamped back into the skin for an ever greater collagen- boosting effect and shorter downtime.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections are gaining popularity for a variety of conditions, from sports injuries to hair loss. The treatment uses a patient’s own blood cells to accelerate healing in a specific area.
PRP treatment can help support wound healing in trauma and joint injury. The technique can address male pattern baldness, stimulate the growth of hair transplants and enhance other cosmetic procedures.
The results of PRP treatment are most noticeable after several weeks for joint injections and six months for scalp injections, and are not permanent; patients may require additional injections at the direction of their doctor.
Because the treatments use a patient’s own tissues, PRP injections are safe and can be administered alone or used in conjunction with other procedures.
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) from your own blood is used for injections in the skin to boost collagen/elastin, plump hollowing areas like under the eyes, help with dark circles, and can even be injected into the scalp for hair loss to stimulate hair growth.

What is platelet-rich plasma?
Platelet-rich plasma consists of two elements: plasma, or the liquid portion of blood, and platelets, a type of blood cell that plays an important role in healing throughout the body. Platelets are well-known for their clotting abilities, but they also contain growth factors that can trigger cell reproduction and stimulate tissue regeneration or healing in the treated area. Platelet-rich plasma is simply blood that contains more platelets than normal.
To create platelet-rich plasma, clinicians take a blood sample from the patient and place it into a device called a centrifuge that rapidly spins the sample, separating out the other components of the blood from the platelets and concentrating them within the plasma.
MY EXPERIENCE
I’ve been in planning on starting my prejuvenation journey for quite some time and I got the opportunity to start it at Velour Medical Center. I decided to start with the micro-needling and PRP treatment, instead of botox because is done with my own plasma, and because it going to work on my whole which I seriously need, my face hasn’t been behaving lately and I want to start working on my skin before it melts and get wrinkly. With early treatments, you can prevent looking like a raisin at 40 years old.
To me the process was painful, I asked my esthetician if other people feel the same way and she told me some people tolerate the pain well, and others like me don't, kudos to those who can because I almost stopped the injection process due of the burning sensation and annoying pinching. I was double numb and still, I felt it too much.
I felt more at ease with this process because Velour is kind of like a clinic and a medical spot goes through a million processes to be able to operate with New York City. You can’t just trust your face with those needles so close to your eyes to anyone.
Once the process is done your face will be swollen, bruised and red. It takes 2 weeks to see results. The next day you skin will be dry, so you need to hydrate often, you need to take your medication and you need to apply the gel the clinic gives you.
